The Garden has been established for several years and during that time tonnes of fruit and vegetables have been harvested each summer.

This has enabled the refugee families to have their diet supplemented with the fruit and vegetables.

There are limitations to the number of crops planted each year as the two hothouses currently need to lie dormant during the winter months for the soil to regenerate for the spring planting and summer harvest.

New Development Project:

Two more 2 hothouses are needed to ensure that crops can be harvested during the harsh winters in Northern Iraq. The 2 hothouses cost $US25,000. We also want to support the purchase of a motorised cultivator to use in all 4 hothouses which costs $US1,500.

Your donation will support this project, providing food and support programs for these refugees in Shariya camp in Northern Iraq.

Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
