A wonderful young volunteer, Omneya, has started buying, packaging, and distributing food packs door to door in a (unnamed) refugee camp in Northern Gaza – all the while avoiding detection by Israeli Defence Forces. It has been impossible for our partner RBB (Refugee, Biriyani and Bananas) to previously distribute any aid in Northern Gaza so we are indebted to Omneya for her determination to succeed. Very few Organisations have been successful in providing aid in Northern Gaza due to the war and with broken infrastructure making it highly dangerous.
Donations to Operation Hope has enabled this life saving work to continue.
Omneya has been distributing food packs to the orphans and widowed families, disabled/mobility impaired, poor, injured and elderly in the camp in Northern Gaza. This is the second distribution in Northern Gaza that Omneya has coordinated by herself. In early 2024 she travelled from Northern Gaza to the south at great risk to herself to assist in the distribution from the first truck of aid that RBB was able to get into Gaza.
For this recent aid distribution, Omneya has overcome one of the major obstacles to internal supply of aid, which is the availability of cash. Despite this she was able to help bring aid to 165 of the most needy in this war-stricken area. Omneya is determined to continue food distribution.
The ‘Cease-Fire’
A ceasefire was called in October 2025, but Palestinian families in Gaza are still under daily attacks, unlawful arrests, assaults and very diminished numbers of transport of aid into Gaza – despite the Rafah border being reopened recently.
Between 1 December 2025 and 12 February 2026 – the figures provided indicate that most truck arrivals have been running at less than 150 trucks per day. (UN Monitoring and Tracking Report) despite assurances that IDF would approve the flow of aid trucks since the ceasefire in October 2025. Hundreds of trucks sit at the borders when in reality there needs to be upwards of 600 truck arrivals per day to meet even the most basic needs for Palestinians.
The trucks of flour we helped finance in October 2025 and January 2026 had a positive impact in Gaza. The needs are immense and ongoing and we appreciate your trust in Operation Hope and our projects.
We are so grateful for your support that has enabled us to send $A85,000 to support these projects since early 2024. Our work is not done – we are compelled to continue with your support.
